Nerijus Masikonis

Hi, my name is Nerijus 👋 I’m a software engineer who combines hands-on technical skills with marketing and AI experience to help seed-stage U.S. companies grow faster.

  • OrganizedI am highly organized, know how to prioritize, adapt quickly when the scope changes, and thrive in the fast-paced, resource-constrained environments.
  • FlexibleI am not married to my ideas and can shift gears easily when things change, excelling in iterative development and lean startup methodologies.
  • Self-MotivatedI can work independently, I’m a self-starter who prefers mentorship over management, and I bring value from day one without needing heavy oversight.
  • MethodicalAll choices I make are guided by diligent research, industry standards, and data-driven insights, ensuring measurable impact on growth and user engagement.

About Me

Since building my first website in 2010, I've had a passion for web development that has evolved to include digital marketing and, most recently, artificial intelligence. I help companies navigate the interplay of these three domains.

I've worked full-time remotely for over 14 years with clients from both America and Europe. No matter the time difference, I pride myself on getting the work done on time and mesh seamlessly with any team that values effective communication.

My roles as a lead developer and growth engineer have honed my ability to think on my feet and solve problems under pressure. I love working directly with founders and small teams, contributing to product development, growth strategies, and AI-driven solutions.

Work Experience

Over the years I've had the pleasure to work with some truly great companies and clients.

Too Pixel

Too Pixel was a web design agency in Geneva, Switzerland, offering tailor-made solutions to clients. I was one of the first people they hired. Not long after, I became the lead developer, overseeing projects for well-known names like CERN, Notz Stucki, EPFL, Newby of London, and others.

My 7 years working full-time remotely for Too Pixel helped me master my core skill of web development. The traditional agency atmosphere also helped me learn how to work effectively as part of a team with high-stakes projects on the line.

Single Grain

Single Grain is a digital marketing agency working with clients like Uber, Amazon, Lyft, SalesForce, and AirBnB. I was first hired to manage all the company's web properties and report directly to the CEO, Eric Siu, known best for his Marketing School podcast with Neil Patel.

My primary skill was web development, but working closely with expert marketers taught me a lot about digital marketing quickly. When invited to join the Growth Team, I embraced the opportunity to help expand Eric's personal brand and new projects. Following a 'lean startup' approach, I developed versatile skills and innovative solutions while working with limited resources.

Throughout my career, I've pursued technological innovation, particularly in artificial intelligence. What began as my initiative at Single Grain - the AI Workforce project - has evolved into the Agent Platform, an AI-enabled technology I'm helping develop that empowers digital marketers to massively scale both their output and quality through intelligent workflows and automation.

Generation Genius

Generation Genius is a learning tool for grades K-8 that makes science fun and educational with videos, lesson plans, activities, quizzes, and reading materials.

As the first full-time developer and technical lead, I was responsible for transforming and scaling the website into a robust educational platform. During my time leading the development, the site grew from 250K to 1.25M monthly visitors, while revenue increased sixfold. After building the core technical foundation, I transitioned to a consulting role, providing strategic guidance and mentoring the expanding development team.

Generation Genius was the #1 Fastest Growing Education Company in America, according to the 2022 Inc5000 list, with a revenue growth of 4,891% from 2018 to 2021. The company's impact on education earned it recognition on TIME Magazine's list of the 100 Most Influential Companies in the World for 2023, culminating in a $100M acquisition by Newsela in 2025.
